Each week get to know a Ceramic Artist and make work based off their style.  We will focus on form of pot, surface decoration and glazing.   Materials are included in the tuition.  

NOTE: Ceramics classes are process-based.  This means that sometimes clay pieces are damaged as they are being completed.  If that does happen, refunds are not given, however a $10 credit can be applied towards a future ceramics class.

Write and illustrate your own original short comic with a professional graphic novelist. Participants will learn about each stage of comics creation – from scripting a story to visual narration to lettering a finished page. All the comics made during the course will be collected into a comic anthology!

Materials:

Student can choose to work with traditional or digital media

Traditional media – pencil, Pink Pearl eraser, Pentel brush pen with spare ink cartridges, fine tip pens (0.1, 0.3, 0.5 size), sketchbook or scratch paper, Bristol board, ruler

Digital media – tablet with drawing stylus or laptop with graphics tablet and stylus, Manga Studio or Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Exploring and experimentation is the theme for this class. Tempera paint, water color and mixed-media will be used to paint pictures based on observation and your child’s imagination.
 For our drawings we will have the use of charcoal, ink and a variety of pencils. Erasing is an important part of drawing as well!
Did you know that drawing from observation uses 4 times the brain power than either tracing or printing? Come and have your child take a rest from screens and buttons. Let’s make art!

$10 materials fee is payable to CCAA to cover the supplies.

NEW!! Dive into digital photography and expand your creativity! This 4-week class will help students better understand their digital cameras, as well as introduce composition and design concepts, giving them the tools to become photographers. Students will work through a variety of fun photo exercises, challenging their new skills and encouraging images that go beyond the basic snapshot. Time will also be spent on editing processes, helping students further enhance the images they capture in-camera.
